S. Nicole Hastings, MD, MHS

Biography

S. Nicole Hastings, MD MHS is a Research Health Science Specialist in the HSR&D Center of Innovation (COIN), and Core Investigator in the Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) at the Durham VA Medical Center. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics at the Duke University School of Medicine and Senior Fellow in the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. Dr. Hastings is a practicing Geriatrician. She serves as Director of the Geriatrics Clinic (GeriPACT) and Director of STRIDE, an inpatient walking program for hospitalized older adults, at the Durham VA. Her research focuses on improving transitions of care for older adults. Other research interests include the organization and delivery of emergency care to older adults, and its impact on health outcomes, and prevention of hospital-associated disability.
